With breathtaking views across wildflower meadows toward the South Downs, this house offers four spacious, boutique-style en-suite bedrooms, each with its own distinctive character:

The Classic Room: A beautiful blend of Parisian Art Nouveau style, featuring full French doors that open to sweeping meadow views.

The Boat Room: Nautical charm at its finest, with a clinker-built boat as the centerpiece of the en-suite bath.

The Indian Room: A serene retreat with a four-poster bed from Kashmir, exuding spiritual and physical energy.

The Arts & Crafts Room: Timeless craftsmanship, complete with a copper bathroom that evokes an earthy, artistic vibe.

Outside, you’ll find a private garden with a raised fire pit, ideal for BBQs or simply enjoying a crackling blaze under the starry night sky. Watch spectacular sunsets over the meadows, and in autumn and winter, experience flocks of wetland wildfowl as your neighbors.

The Classic Room

This majestic Art Nouveau room has views down the valley to the Downs on the horizon. A large ensuite shower with reclaimed antique Minton floor, the pre-revolutionary luxury of Paris at its most expressive and romantic. Sit at the Napoleon desk, whilst you look across the wild flower meadows. This room most used as the nuptial bridal suite.

The Arts and Crafts Room

Exposed beams double height reflects the Arts and Crafts movement. The first hippy pause in 1890 into industrialism, the Celtic and ‘back to nature’ inspiration of the movement whose stanza "The loving eye, and the skilful hand" the stanza between artisan and material. A wonderful ensuite copper bathroom inspired by The Keswick School of Industrial Art.

The Indian Room

The exotically themed double-height Indian room is abundant with spiritual and sensual energy. Architectural salvage Shop front from the Punjab ornaments one wall, rich fabric from Goa. Big double Bed from Rajastan. Single Indian bed from Kerala. Re-claimed antique Minton Floor tiles in the stunning Indian bathroom.

The Boat Room

Full length wonderous landscape views to the earthworks of the Roman fort or to sunsets to the Downs beyond, across the ancient flower meadows. The river meanders down the valley towards the house. Epic when the floods are up November to March.
Ensuite bathroom. A Dali'esque expression of reversal, get wet inside the boat where is the bath.
